In late 2015, PR News was seeking abstracts for articles to include in their 2016 Media Training Guidebook. My abstract (1,000 word count minimum) was selected and my article was subsequently published in their Guidebook; copies of which currently sell for $399 in digital and $449 in print.
“Mayra, your topic sounds interesting, and we’d love to have it provided it meets our editorial standards and is consultative with tactical information, strategies and lessons learned.”

I pitched the initial vision for the “Pet Tech” column (1,000-word count, per column) to the The Virginia-Maryland Dog Magazine back in 2013 and the magazine agreed. View the sample shared.
In addition to authoring the Pet Tech column, I also branded the column by naming it “Pet Tech” and subsequently designing the column’s logo artwork (see left).
I’ve written various executive, business, and people profiles for Posh Seven Magazine. Their editor would assign each interview, define the word count, and provide interviewee and deadline details. Most of these profiles were done by phone or via virtual meetings.
In addition to my digital marketing columns (see above), I also authored 1,000-word executive profiles for this paper’s business journal.
